At Juli Hunter Eco Friendly Style, we are passionate about moving away from the traditional take-make-use-waste way of thinking about products and consistently strive to find new uses for materials that would normally be sent to landfill. We see value in what others see as waste. And this value has benefits, not just for the environment, but for our customers as well. By re-using materials, we can create bespoke and sustainable products that are also affordable.
It's well known that the global clothing industry is remarkably 'dirty business', emitting 1.7 billion tonnes of CO2 and producing 92m tonnes of waste annually. This is compounded by the fact that there are 246 million child workers in the world today (International Labour Organisation).
By making small runs of upcycled products here in our shop we are supporting change in the way we think about our products while building consciousness about how our everyday basics are made. Every worker in our Waikanae shop earns a living wage as a bare minimum and we are proud to be a fun, supportive and friendly place to work, inspiring creativity in our workers which is evident in our increasing range of unique products.
Take our fabulous undies for example.
Ranging in sizes from 10-16, they are made from cotton-spandex fabric cut-offs and upcycled clothes. They are soft, stretchy and super comfy. Not to mention fun as!
Want to pick your own combo of fabric and band? Pop by our shop, have a look at our different options and we can tailor a colour way just for you.
Every month we’ll be featuring a new product from our exciting eco-friendly collection, so please be sure to join our mailing list so you don’t miss out!
