It's FROCKTOBER! šŸ‘—

This month’s newsletter is all about keeping you in the loop with diary dates, events, and what’s happening so far.

Our Textile Waste Hub is gaining wonderful momentum — with strong community support, new partners coming on board, and more people realising that textile waste is an issue we all need to address together. It’s encouraging to see awareness growing and collective action starting to build.

We’ve also got some exciting things coming up this month, including our Sustainable Fashion Catwalk Show in Paekākāriki, showcasing creativity and conscious style. šŸŽŸļø Tickets are available from our Waikanae shop — so pop in to grab yours!

Plus, don’t miss our Sustainable Spring Clothing Repair Drop-in, where we’ll be teaching people how to repair and extend the life of their clothes for a gold coin donation. And finally, we’re thrilled to be finalists in the Electra Business Awards — thank you for being part of this journey with us.Ā Ā Together we’re creating change, one step at a time ✨

✨ Join us for a relaxed evening of shopping, style, & a little sparkle!

Browse our unique upcycled fashion, vintage finds, & one-of-a-kind pieces — plus locally made, beautifulĀ crafts & gifts. Enjoy a complimentary drink while you explore our welcoming Waikanae workroom & discover something special.Ā  Ā

🌟 We love a good swap! 🌟

At Juli Hunter Workroom, we’re big believers in the barter system — swapping skills and services instead of money. It’s a great way to support each other, share talents, &Ā keep things local. Right now, we’re especially looking for:

  • CleanerĀ

  • Groundsperson

  • Handyperson / Builder

  • Signwriter

In returnĀ we offer store vouchers, clothing, or we can trade servicesĀ should you haveĀ skillsĀ or products we’d be interested in. We are open to ideas so if this sounds like you (or someone you know), get in touchĀ -Ā we’d love to chat. ā™»ļøĀ Juli Hunter,Ā 8 Main Rd, Waikanae,Ā Ā Ā 021 02399172,Ā office@julihunter.com

ā™»ļø Upcycling in Action at the Kāpiti Textile Waste Hub!

We’re turning preloved garments into something fresh and wearable, giving clothing and textiles a whole new life instead of sending them to landfill. Working with community partners like Curtain Bank Wellington, Free-for-All Petone, and The Nest Collective, we repair, restyle, and refresh items, transforming old pieces into upcycled treasures.Ā  Bring in your pre-loved donations and join us in keeping Kapiti textiles in circulation, reducing waste, and supporting our community — one upcycled garment at a time!
